The Importance of 'Hurricane Matthew' Essay ExamsIn this article, we're going to be looking at a 'Hurricane Matthew' sample report. This is a report written by an English teacher at a Miami High School.This is part of a final exam that was taken by a student who had failed it previously. It's actually a great example because of the personal details about the student's life that are included in the report.The student, Jason Goodwin, took a daily report and wrote about everything that he was doing during that time. Some of the events were very important, but other parts of his day-to-day life weren't as significant. But the teacher knew that she was giving the student time to think about what she was describing in the daily report.It's the last day of class for Hurricane Matthew. In fact, the student just turned fifteen years old! And he's having the most stressful summer of his life. He's busy with school and taking care of his family, all while trying to help with Hurricane Matthew.H e's sitting on the back of his seat, wondering what to write on his paper. As he's reading the news that day, he's seeing the destruction that has occurred around the state. His mom and dad are staying in an evacuation center because they can't afford to pay for a hotel room. He wonders if they'll have a place to live.He starts to feel really bad about the situation and tells his school teacher that he needs some help. She agrees and gives him a hurricane guidebook that will help him when he gets home. She also tells him that if he needs anything he can always reach her through the phone. She also tells him that if he has any specific questions he should ask a guidance counselor.He takes the final exam the next day and gets it right. He's really proud of himself. He then realizes that he has no idea what's going to happen to him and his family. And that he wants to be prepared for anything.After the final exam, he goes back to his teacher's office and takes another exam. This time, he writes in the essay, 'Living With Hurricanes,' about Hurricane Matthew. He turns in his essay, and his teacher tells him that he passed the final.
